Smokeless Tobacco Information

smokeless tobacco? (Answers: 4) (Comments: 0)

I've been with my boyfriend for over 3 years. He smoked since before I met him but after a lot of nagging he finally quit last Christimas. About 3 months ago, he started chewing smokeless tobacco and I absolutely can't stand it. Its not something that I would ever consider breaking up with him for because we do have a really good relationship but it really worries me. First of all it's disgusting, he spits constantly when he's chewing it and carries around empty water bottles to spit in. The part that worries me though is the health risks. I've done some research and read about how it causes cancer and gum recession, and leukoplakia, and all of that bad stuff and it just makes me more upset. When I confront him about it he gets angry and says "at least I'm not smoking anymore". I don't want to make him mad but it really bothers me. Any suggestions about how to encourage him to stop without making him get so defensive and angry?

This may sound like a stupid question, but i need help. . LOL. . . I'd like to learn how to dip tobacco instead of smoking cigarettes. Here's the problem. No matter what kind of smokeless tobacco i try, i always end up getting sick. . . . I know it's true that your not suppose to swallow it. I made that mistake just once. When i put a dip into my mouth, i get sick. I don't feel myself swallow anything, but i just get sick for no apparent reason. . . . Am i swallowing just even a little bit without me knowing? Please help!
