Get the answers...Smoking Cessation? (Answers: 5) (Comments: 0)I stopped smoking August 1, 2007 after smoking for almost 25 years. I thought I was doing very well, but I was very irritable. The slightest thing would set me off, and I bought a pack of cigarettes yesterday (Oct. 15, 2007). I feel very weak and hate myself, but I do feel much more relaxed. I have heard of people who are physically/psychologically unable to quit. I know all of the tricks, tips, and suggestions; I have tried Zyban, Nicoderm CQ, Nicorette gum, and most recently, Commit, all to no avail. I also know it takes will power, but I am not my easy going self without the nicotine. Can anyone please help me overcome the almost violent urge to smoke? (Answers: 5) (Comments: 0)Why are they wanting to spend millions on smoking cessation when they want to expand SCHIP at the same time PAID FOR by cigarette tax? Isn't that counter-productive? I'm a democrat but this just makes no sense to me at all. I say choose one or the other. tribeca_belle: I understand it would save money on healthcare, but I just hope they are able to fund the SCHIP some other way. I don't know where they will get the money if less people smoke when all the other stuff is yet to be paid for. In my opinion, it would be better to tax junk food more than cigarettes. The taxes on cigarettes are already so high many people I know roll their own because they are almost half the price. Get the answers...
